What Is Dry Ice Blasting?
Dry ice blasting is an innovative cleaning process that uses recycled CO₂ in its solid form (dry ice pellets) to remove contaminants from surfaces. The pellets are accelerated through compressed air and impact the surface at high velocity.
How It Works
- Impact: Dry ice pellets hit the contaminated surface at high speed
- Thermal Shock: The extreme cold (-78.5°C / -109.3°F) causes contaminants to become brittle and crack
- Sublimation: The pellets instantly convert from solid to gas, expanding and lifting away contaminants
- Zero Residue: The CO₂ dissipates into the atmosphere, leaving only the removed contaminant to clean up
Unlike sandblasting, pressure washing, or chemical cleaning, dry ice blasting is completely non-abrasive and leaves no secondary waste. This means no water damage, no chemical residue, and no expensive cleanup – just pristine, cleaned surfaces ready for immediate use.
